Welcome
The name "Korari" isn't just a beautiful word; it's a connection to the rich history of Paengaroa. The Korari is the flower stalk of the flax plant (harakeke), a plant deeply intertwined with the story of this land. From the late 1800s through the early 1900s, flax mills thrived in this area. These mills were at the heart of the local economy, processing flax into fibre that was used both locally and exported.
